Veduta>Udine is part of a modular format, dedicate to the city and the perspective view of the urban landscape.
The performance is experienced through headphones, from a panoramic viewpoint looking over the city. The sweeping view invites the eyes of audience to dwell on places both very near and very far, connected by a powerfully cinematic holophonic recording heard through the headphones, and the distant position of the performers.
After their work in Bologna and Matera, MK has now developed a module designed specifically for Udine during the residency at Dialoghi. This is based on one of Udine’s most historical squares, Piazza Matteotti.
Through listening, the urban view is transformed into a place that floats between the present and that which is possible, the viewers are immersed in a landscape that is no longer the one which stands before them: as if in a religious allegory, it is transformed into a series of coincidences and configurations that seem to evoke something else.
Dance is literally a point of view on the world that it inscribes, it declares the presence of the figure within the space of the community, at the same time offering an escape route.

Bermudas is a choreography designed for a variable number of interchangeable performers (between 3 and 15). It is a system of movement based on simple yet strict rules which create a perpetual motion that can be adopted by each performer as a condition for existence next to the others and to build a world of shared rhythm.
The work is inspired by chaos theory, the creation of complex systems from simple conditions and evolution systems derived from physics and meteorology.
The end result leads to the creation of a space that is rich with relational tension, a very intense field of energy (the title is an ironic reference to this) intersecting with the pressing drive to communicate, which is essential to create a space that is always accessible to anyone who enters it.
This residency focuses on the fine-tuning of the choreographic dynamics regardless of the number or characteristics of the performers. Indeed, these will change constantly over the course of the two weeks of work with groups that are always different.
As such, the invitation to the audience to view the work will offer a window onto one of the possible casts of performers, but also onto the single objective of the work: the construction of a dance that always allows someone else’s dance to find a space.

MK works in choreography and performance.
Current productions include Robinson, Impressions d’Afrique and Hey, choreographic investigations that are suspended between pure landscape and a tormented reconstruction of the exotic. The group has produced numerous fruitful collaborations with a range of visual artists and musicians in environmental and installation formats, including the recent project, Veduta. The group has been commissioned to produce choreographies by the Biennale Danza, the Korean National Contemporary Dance Company, Aterballetto and RIC.CI (Reconstruction Italian Contemporary Choreography). 
In 2014, Michele Di Stefano won the Leone d’argento award at the 9th international contemporary dance festival at the Biennale di Venezia.
